TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Cases of influenza-like illness have increased in Cavite, based on data released by the Cavite Provincial Health Office on Oct. 15, 2025.
According to Dr. Nelson Soriano of the Provincial Health Office, 2,828 cases of this influenza-like illness were recorded in the province based on the Oct. 12, 2025 surveillance report of different disease-reporting units in the province.
In 2024, there were about 4,449 cases of the same illness.
Top five localities with these influenza-like illness are the city of Gen. Trias with 424 cases, city of Tagaytay with 481 cases, Ternate 313 cases, Silang 252 cases, and Mendez Nuñez 210 cases.
The spread of the illness has prompted Cavite Gov. Abeng Remulla to temporarily suspend face-to-face classes throughout the province and have the students in both private and public schools shift to online and modular learning.
Local government units of eight cities and 15 municipalities also encouraged the residents to wear face masks for protection.
