THE local government of Cavite City opened an aviary dome inside Samonte Park featuring more than 70 different bird species on Thursday.
Most of the birds were donated by the city residents.

“If you notice, our famous Samonte Park is gradually improving, its vitality is being restored, starting with the play park, chess board, and this city aviary,” said Mayor Denver Chua.
“This is just the beginning of the beautification of our historic Samonte Park,” said Chua.
“Next year, we will begin building the city library and museum for our students and tourists who visit our city. So, on your next visit here, you will enjoy visiting our park,” added Chua.
The mayor said the city aviary is a symbol of the unity of the local government and the city’s residents, because this structure was donated by the residents who are cooperating with each other.
Former councilor Edmund Tirona donated more than seven bird species including peacocks, peasants, silver peasant, mayang costa, finches, polish chicken, onagadori and lesser whistling duck.
On the other hand, Boyet Motos also gave cockatiel, mukto; Ian Dela Cruz gave budgerizer, punay and Alimukon; while Ardi Magdalenio shared African love birds and Dante dela Cruz gave Bagatan.
