MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area (LPA) off Cavite may still develop into a tropical depression to be named “Jacinto,” the third storm to hit the country this month and the tenth this year, the national weather bureau said on Thursday.
Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the trough or extension of the LPA, which was estimated some 435 kilometers west of Sangley Point, Cavite City, has been affecting several Luzon areas including Metro Manila.
