Businesses in Hammersmith have voted to renew the town centre’s Business Improvement District (BID) for a fifth term, approving a new five-year Business Plan that will see over £5 million invested in local initiatives from 2026 to 2031.
The ballot saw 92% of businesses vote in favour, representing 96% by rateable value, with a 69% turnout — significantly higher than the UK’s average BID ballot turnout of around 40% in 2025. The result grants Hammersmith BID a strong mandate to continue its work in the area.
Livia Caruso, BID Director, welcomed the outcome, stating, “We are grateful to the businesses of Hammersmith for putting their trust in us. Through our Business Plan, we pledge to help Hammersmith thrive over the next five years and beyond.”
Established in 2006, Hammersmith BID is one of the UK’s longest-running Business Improvement Districts. Past projects have included the Summer Festival, Made in H&F shop, festive lighting, and public realm improvements such as the Hammersmith Grove parklets and the Public Realm Vision for Hammersmith East.
The newly approved Business Plan outlines three priority areas:
The BID’s fifth term will begin on 1 April 2026, with implementation of new projects expected to follow shortly after.
