Cavite 4th District Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga on Tuesday declared his net worth to be at P5.375 million in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth as of July 1 this year.
Barzaga posted a copy of his SALN on his Facebook page.
According to his SALN, Barzaga’s net worth are from assets under personal properties. These are a P3.025 million donation from 2019 and P2.35 million in income from 2019 to 2024.
Barzaga’s SALN did not record any liabilities.
The photo of his SALN was accompanied by a caption which stated that his SALN did not include “untransferred, inherited assets from the late Congressman Pidi Barzaga,” referring to Elpidio Barzaga Jr., the former representative of Cavite’s 4th District.
These inherited assets included “vehicles, Dasmariñas property, and cash amounting to an estimated total of P35 million.”
Barzaga is the son of the late Barzaga and Dasmariñas City mayor Jennifer Barzaga. His brother, Elpidio Barzaga III, is currently the vice mayor of Dasmariñas City.
Barzaga also declared two other relatives in the government in his SALN: his aunt, Jocelyn Austria, who works as Senior Admin Assistant III in the Dasmariñas City government, and Nickanor Austria, Jr., a board member of the Cavite Provincial government.
Other lawmakers who earlier released their SALNs are:
Last week, Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III said the House of Representatives will issue guidelines on the public disclosure of SALNs of House members.
This was after Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla issued a memorandum lifting restrictions on public access to SALNs of officials, whose SALNs are with the Office of the Ombudsman.
The lifted restrictions included the requirement that the SALN owner should first consent to the public disclosure of his or her SALN. — With a report from Tina Panganiban-Perez/JMA, GMA Integrated News
