MANILA, Philippines – You might’ve come across castles, cars, and cities built from LEGO bricks, but have you seen a carabao?
Almost a year after introducing its Mamang Sorbetero display at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, The LEGO Group and Ban Kee Trading Incorporated level up with another exciting 3D ensemble — a farmer and a carabao — in their newest LEGO Certified Store in Cavite.
The branch opened on October 19 at Building D, Ground Floor, Ayala Malls Vermosa in Imus.
As you step right into the store, you’ll notice a striking centerpiece, not just with a carabao and a farmer, but a sack of rice, coconuts, and a vibrant basket of corn and bananas — featuring the heart of Cavite’s crops and proudly integrating the country’s agricultural roots within the LEGO experience.
“Syempre nasa Pilipinas tayo — pride natin ‘yan. For Cavite naman, known siya for farming, kaya nagdecide kami na magkaroon tayo ng farmer with carabao,” Ian Maquinana, marketing staff for LEGO Certified Store PH, shared with Rappler.
(Of course we’re in the Philippines, so that’s our pride. Cavite is known for farming, so we decided to have a farmer with a carabao.)
An upcoming contest will center on the farmer-and-carabao display, where people can guess the number of bricks used to build the model. Participants simply need to register at the Vermosa branch for a chance to win exciting LEGO prizes, with full details to be announced soon.
As Maquinana explained, the success of the Alabang Town Center branch paved the way for another LEGO spot in the south, where they can bring creativity closer to the location’s growing sense of community.
Since it opened in 2023, Ayala Malls Vermosa has been redefining the mall experience with a 1.9-hectare central garden — an open, pet-friendly park ideal for families spending quality time with children.
“Perfect siya kasi newly opened ‘yung mall, and then iba ‘yong surroundings. So ‘yung mga bata, may pasyalan, may park — open siya sa lahat,” he added.
(It’s perfect because the mall is newly opened, and the surroundings are different. So for the kids, there’s a place to hang out, there’s a park — it’s open for everyone)
In an area where play has plenty of space outdoors, this branch also brings the fun inside — whether it’s in collecting LEGO passport stamps, measuring your height in LEGO blocks, picking bricks to build, or designing your very own minifigures.
As Maquinana highlighted, LEGO invites both children and adults not only to drop by their stores but also to stay and enjoy hands-on experiences.
“LEGO is not just for kids. It’s for everyone. Dito sa LEGO Store namin, makikita mo na hindi lang siya for kids, meron din tayong area for adults,” he said.
(Here in our LEGO store, you’ll see that it’s not just for kids, we also have an area for adults.)
One of the most interactive activities is the LEGO Passport program, which turns your ordinary shopping into a travel adventure from one LEGO branch to another. The program was first introduced in the country during the opening of the Manila Bay branch, before expanding to stores like Vermosa.
Here, you can collect stamps from any LEGO Certified Store in the Philippines and around the globe — each store with a unique and exclusive stamp design, making every visit exciting and memorable.
Visitors only need to register at any LEGO Certified Store to get their passport for free. And if you already have six stamps from other LEGO Certified Stores, you can avail of a free LEGO Polybag for your seventh stamp at this Vermosa branch (no purchase required)! This is valid until December 31, 2025, until supplies last.
Aside from its carabao centerpiece, this Vermosa store also unveils another refreshing feature compared to other stores in the metro — a colorful wall where children and adults can measure how tall they are in LEGO bricks.
Another fun-fueled wall for all ages is the Pick & Build section, where people can select individual LEGO pieces of their choice from a wide range of parts and colors, priced at P679 per 100 grams.
Meanwhile, over the Build-Your-Own-Minifigure station, you can mix and match LEGO character parts, and design your own figures — from the head, the torso, and the legs to the accessories. Visitors can also expect newer parts at this branch that aren’t available to other stores just yet, with three custom pieces starting at P599.
To celebrate the new store’s opening, LEGO also has surprises for every loyal shopper. Customers who spend at least P10,000 with a single-purchase receipt can also take home the exclusive 158-piece Vermosa Grand Opening Set — a limited-edition model made just for the store’s launch.
As for those with a single-receipt purchase of P5,000 in all LEGO theme sets, the Vermosa branch will also give out a free Foldable Shoppers Bag with a playful design of LEGO food mascots. Both promos are available at the Vermosa branch until supplies last.
The LEGO Certified Store at Ayala Malls Vermosa is the newest location on LEGO’s map in the Philippines, joining branches in Trinoma, Bonifacio Global City, Shangri-La Plaza, Alabang Town Center, UP Town Center, and Manila Bay. – Rappler.com
