MANILA – The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center said 176 projects worth PHP2.47 trillion as of Feb. 10 this year are in the pipeline for undertaking between the government and the private sector.
Recent data obtained from the PPP Center showed that 112 of these projects are at the national level while the remaining 64 will be implemented by local government units (LGUs).
The updated list was up from 172 projects in the pipeline released on Dec. 4, 2024 but the total estimated cost was slightly lower from the previous PHP2.55 trillion.
“The change in the number of projects in the pipeline was due to the addition of projects and delisting of PPP projects,” said the PPP Center.
Projects recently added to the pipeline include the Manila Central Post Office; Manolo Fortich Septage and Sewage Treatment Facility; Proposed Preservation of the Historical Old Del Monte Airstrip; Economic Housing Subdivision – RQ Village; Baguio Water Supply Project; Philippines Digital National Identity; Pangasinan – Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program; and the Baguio – 4PH Program.
Other projects recently included in the pipeline include the Traveler Information and Data Security System; Francisco Bangoy International Airport Project; Construction of New City Public Market with Multi-level Parking in General Trias, Cavite; Establishment of Trading Post/Bagsakan Center for wholesale and retail of the city’s agricultural products in General Trias, Cavite; Baguio Central Terminal and Cultural Center; Improvement and Management of the Water Supply and Sanitation Services of the Freeport Area of Bataan; and the Pasig Common Underground Network Project.
Data from the PPP Center showed that nine projects are delisted following coordination with the appropriate implementing agencies.
These include the Comprehensive Digital Housing Platform Project; High-capacity Bus System in Iloilo City; Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 (MRT3) Rehabilitation, Operations, and Maintenance; Joint Venture for the Redevelopment of the Philippine National Oil Company and Department of Energy BGC Properties; Zamboanga City Integrated Solid Waste Management System; Electronic Invoicing and Tax Engine Systems; Rizal Park Western Section Development; Power Generation and Distribution in San Vicente Flagship Tourism Enterprise Zone; and the Marinduque Decarbonization Project.
The PPP Center said the PHP4.53-billion New Bohol (Panglao) International Airport project and the Operations and Maintenance of Pampanga Dialysis Centers Project are removed from the pipeline database following their award and are now reflected in the database of projects under implementation.
