The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested three Vietnamese citizens in Cavite for supposedly conducting cosmetic procedures without the proper medical license in the country.
In a statement Sunday, the PNP identified the Vietnamese nationals as Dr. Julie Nguyen, Dr. Luna Pham, and Dr. Ryan Truong, who supposedly introduced themselves as doctors and performed injection of stem cells, hair regrowth, body sculpture, bio stimulation collagen, and derma-related producers in Imus, Cavite.
“However, they failed to present the required medical licenses and permits to dispense medical products, operate a medical facility, or practice medicine in the Philippines,” the police said.
The agency said it confiscated boxes of assorted medicine, medical and cosmetic products and related devices, and notebooks documenting medical procedures, prescription medications, and receipts issued to clients.
“The illegal practice of medicine poses a serious threat to public health, and CIDG will continue to go after individuals who engage in these unlawful activities,” the PNP said.
“This operation is a warning to all criminals, local or foreign, that the CIDG is unyielding and steadfast in catching all of you to prevent and solve crimes. We encourage the public to report any illegal practice of medicine and other criminal activities in your localities and CIDG will do the rest,” it added. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/RF, GMA Integrated News
