GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – Another centenarian from the historic city of General Trias received a P100,000 reward from the city government yesterday at her house in Bgy. Bacao Dos, this city.
Mayor Luis “Jon-Jon” Ferrer IV, Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen, councilors Alfred Ching, Martin Ferrer, and Gigie Ferrer of the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) led the presentation of a plaque and symbolic check to Nanay Francisca Rusit Monton who celebrated her 100th birthday.
Monton was honored by virtue of 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼.11982 or the Expanded Centenarian Law, which recognizes centenarians for their long life, sacrifices, and contributions to their respective families and communities.
This was also approved by the City Council Resolution No. 5-2025-194 authored by councilors Alfred Ching, Martin Ferrer and Richard Parin.
Nanay Francisca is the sixth centenarian to be recognized under Mayor Ferrer’s term, including Nanay Candida Amon Bautista of Bgy. Alingaro and Leonida Parani Mallari of Bgy. Bacao 1.
