Authorities arrested a police officer who went absent without official leave (AWOL) in Damariñas, Cavite for multiple charges, including robbery.
According to John Consulta’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the 42-year-old suspect was facing charges after he confiscated motorcycles with insufficient documents at a checkpoint and did not return them.
The ex-cop did not surrender peacefully as he attempted to escape and even fired twice at pursuing cops during a chase at a residential neighborhood in Damariñas, Cavite. Both shots missed.
The suspect is also facing charges of physical injury and for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Authorities also found that the suspect engaged in gambling and illegal drugs where he wagered drugs while playing Kara y Krus.
The suspect has yet to comment on the matter. He is detained at the New Bilibid Prison. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
