Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, assessed the operational capabilities of the Amphibious Forces under Southern Command during the ongoing Tri-Service Exercise Trishul.
Accompanied by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Air Command (SWAC), Lt Gen Seth boarded the Indian Navy’s amphibious platform, INS Jalashwa, for the review.
During the exercise, Lt Gen Seth oversaw the deployment of the first Infantry Platoon, which included a tank, using a Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM) for the initial wave of beach landing operations. This operation is part of a series of drills designed to enhance India’s ability to project power from sea to land, facilitating the swift and coordinated insertion of combat forces onto adversarial shores.
The exercises meticulously coordinated operations, focusing on refining tactics, maneuvers, and landing procedures, underscoring the capacity of the Indian Armed Forces to function as a unified combat team across diverse domains.
