GENERAL MARIANO ALVAREZ, Cavite — Police arrested the No. 1 most wanted person in Cavite during an intensified manhunt operation on Wednesday.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO) reported that personnel of the GMA Municipal Police Station (MPS) used an alternative recording device that resulted in the arrest of the fugitive at 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 12.
LtCol. Bonna Obmerga, chief of the GMA Police Office, identified the accused as alias “John,” a resident of GMA.
The arrest was based on a warrant of arrest for violation of the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 (RA 10883), issued on Nov. 5, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 128, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, with a recommended bail of P300,000.
The accused was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he fully understood.
The accused is temporarily detained at the custodial facility of the GMA MPS, and the warrant of arrest will be submitted to the court of origin for appropriate disposition.
In his statement, Col. Ariel Red, provincial director of the CPPO, commended the personnel of the GMA-MPS for their dedication and prompt action.
“The Cavite PNP continues to enforce the law and pursue wanted persons,” said Red.
