Silang’s mayor-elect Alston Kevin Anarna isn’t going down without a legal fight.
Anarna has challenged his disqualification before the Supreme Court, seeking a temporary restraining order against the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) en banc ruling that nullified his victory.
“Our lawyers just filed (a petition) under Rule 65 (of the Revised Rules of Court), questioning the Comelec ruling,” Anarna said during an interview with Bilyonaryo News Channel’s “At The Forefront” with Atty. Karen Jimeno.
“We are just really hoping for the Supreme Court. The last bastion of our truth and justice to issue it. Hopefully. We believe our case is strong,” he said.
Despite the Comelec’s ruling, Anarna is confident in his ability to assume office before the current term ends.
He also assured the people of Silang not to worry. “We are very, very sure that our Supreme Court will side with us,” he said.
The Comelec en banc had disqualified Anarna’s mayoral candidacy in Silang, Cavite, for the 2025 elections, declaring his votes as stray and his proclamation as invalid.
This decision reversed an earlier ruling by the Comelec First Division, which had dismissed the petition filed by Mayor Edward Carranza.

ABOUT ABANTE-BILYONARYO GROUP
“From masa to alta, we elevate your story.”
The ABANTE-BILYONARYO GROUP is a media conglomerate that has successfully bridged the gap between traditional and digital media in the Philippines. The group’s portfolio includes a diverse range of publications and platforms, catering to an exceptionally broad audience. Abante, a well-established Tagalog tabloid, provides a strong foundation with its “masa” or working-class readership. This is complemented by Bilyonaryo.com, a prominent online publication that focuses on the business, public presence, and lifestyle of the country’s wealthiest individuals, effectively targeting the “alta” or elite demographic.
The group has expanded its reach beyond print and online publications, venturing into free TV, cable TV content, and various social media channels. A key part of this expansion is BNC.ph, the Bilyonaryo News Channel. This cable news channel is a significant asset, with programming focused on business, economy, corporate shows, and lifestyle content. By combining the mass appeal of a traditional tabloid with the niche focus of an elite business publication, a dedicated news channel, and leveraging modern media platforms, the ABANTE-BILYONARYO GROUP has created a powerful media entity with an arguably unparalleled reach in terms of traffic and demographics, from “masa to alta” (from the masses to the elite). The inclusion of POLITIKO.COM.PH further solidifies their position in the political news and commentary space, adding another layer to their diverse content offerings.
